Assign MMSI
Automatically assign a new MMSI. The NMID will automatically assign the next MMSI available in the selected category. This option should be used for reassignment of MMSIs which have remained deactivated for more than twelve (12) months.
When assigning a new Ship Station MMSI, the user will be presented with three more scenarios. The user will need to select the scenario which best describes the vessel situation with regards to certain Inmarsat mobile terminals. An Inmarsat-C mobile terminal will require a MMSI with only one trailing zero; whereas an Inmarsat mobile terminal of standard B or M will require a MMSI with three trailing zeros.
